The race begins with the run from San Quentin to Fisherman's Wharf. You will be running down the scenic highway 101 which runs along side the west side of the Bay. You will cross the Golden Gate Bridge and enter downtown San Francisco passing such icons as Lombard Street and the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park before arriving at Pier 99 of Fisherman's Wharf.
You will transition from running to swimming at Pier 99 of Fisherman's Wharf. You will swim a direct course to Alcatraz. Remember, these are cold waters, so plan accordingly. Once you reach Alcatraz, you will swim back to Pier 99 to finish up the swim.
Last, but not least, you will be cycling from Pier 99 at Fisherman's Wharf, through downtown San Francisco, to Interstate Highway 80. You will then follow Interstate 80 across the San Francisco - Oakland Bay Bridge, until you reach John T. Knox Freeway. You will then follow John T. Knox Freeway all the way back to San Quentin, where the finishline awaits!
